Acceptable Use Policy

Purpose
This policy sets out the standards of conduct for all users of the VACSA platform. Our community is built on mutual respect, transparency, and the shared goal of strengthening South Africa's visual arts sector.
Acceptable Use
You may use the VACSA platform to:
- Register your profile as part of the national constituency mapping
- Browse and apply for opportunities (grants, exhibitions, residencies)
- Register for VACSA events and workshops
- Access resources and sector information
- Connect with the VACSA community through sanctioned channels
Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use the platform for commercial advertising or solicitation without VACSA approval
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other community members
- Post or transmit offensive, discriminatory, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to admin or other users' data
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the platform
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of VACSA or other users
- Use the platform in violation of South African law
Community Standards
VACSA serves a diverse community across 9 provinces, multiple languages, and all levels of artistic development. We expect:
- Respect: Treat all community members with dignity regardless of discipline, tier, or background
- Honesty: Provide accurate information about your practice and qualifications
- Constructive engagement: Contribute positively to discussions, workshops, and events
- Privacy: Respect the privacy and personal information of other community members
Enforcement
VACSA reserves the right to:
- Remove content that violates this policy
- Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these standards
- Report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities
